Sto. Tomas Survey for Persons with Disability: September 7 - 14, 2007
A. Ramir Zablan, the blind surveyor with Jef Baluyut, the helicopter pilot;

B. On wheelchair being carried to a building with no access is the Chairman of Skilled Workers with Disability - Medardo "Ed" Manaban.

At the Poblacion with the ever-industrious and diligent volunteers and municipal employees of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga (Philippines):
Ms. Gloria D. Tongol - MSW Assistant, focal person for pwds and the staff - Jeffrey Baluyut, Anelita Mucha, Abigail Timajo, Glady David, Melody Flores, Norma Lingat and Freddie Yco. Pwd officers are Medardo Manaban, Jim Neria, Ramir Zablan and Roland Garcia.



The survey event started with the briefing by Ms. Cynthia Daquis, Sto. Tomas Municipal Health Nurse (shown on the picture). Ms. Daquis explained the form furnished by the Department of Health. To be filled up were the different data of the disabled to be surveyed, to include the personal data, type of disability, how the disability was acquired, what assistance would be needed or had been given given, etc. Budgeting for the survey was provided by the LGU under Municipal Mayor Naguit and the Sangguniang Bayan. The event was a big success in that after a week the Survey Team was able to gather enough information regarding the disabled population of the municipality of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga. These data are still being processed, and will be incorporated in a data base for the whole province of Pampanga (Philippines).
